Painflail brings you ultra low-bar-to-entry tactical combat rules for Mörk Borg and Solitary Defilement!
Can’t afford a load of minis? Have absolutely no space in your hovel? Painflail was developed with indigent scvm like you in mind!
The system can be used on pen and paper for quick combat encounters at 8mm level… or at 10mm with counters (printable decals also provided) and a printable set of behaviour cards for tracking opponent actions and character initiative. If you have room on your smallholding, you could also play on a battlemat with whatever minis you can whittle from ancient bogwood!
PAINFLAIL is basically MÖRK BORG meets GLOOMHAVEN. If you think that sounds like a laugh, give it a go. It’s a free download. What can you lose beside your life?

PAINFLAIL QUEST takes the things further, with dungeon-crawling procedures compatible with the SÖLITARY DEFILEMENT crawl-system or usable simply with MÖRK BORG. Take a party of four unsuspecting victims on a jaunt beneath the surface of the Dying World: just add 10mm counters, 25mm standees (included in the download), or whatever you can find to symbolise your players and other beasties.

Yes. I am not sure when, but both this and Solitary Defilement are on the to-do list.
There is so much in this package! A small game box. Looking forward to printing paper figs and doing a little crafting. Skirmish game, little like 4AD, affordable mork borg figures game! perhaps match it up with Solitary Defilement!? awesome project

I don't know if this is an inappropriate plug, but I was thinking that a couple of the generators by watabou here on itch.io are perfect to add some variety to the dungeons. Specifically the One Page Dungeon and the Cave/Glade (which has also a resizable grid).
Definitely! I am a huge fan of Watabou, both for the generators, and especially for Pixel Dungeon!
I love the floortile mapping paper. Where did you source it from? I can't see it in any of the download files (or do I need a smack on the head?)

Very nice. I'll try the grid combat later, but as one (VERY!!!) unsatisfied with Forbidden Psalm, I was already trying to translate this onto a map+terrain.
It looks to me that factoring all the base units to 2 inches should port with the "right-ish" feel on a 28-32mm scale (imagining a 2 or 3ft map), specifically movement is 8+AGI and close combat range is 2 inches.
DR modifier for excess distance in ranged attacks would still probably be 1 inch for unit, but just for simplicity. Not that using increments of 2 inches is impossible to calculate...
